Paint Creek State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Paint Creek is a dividing line. Situated on the very edge of the Appalachian plateau, it separates the hilly eastern section of Ohio from the flatter country to the west. Straddling those two worlds, it offers a diversity of plants and wildlife. It’s known as much as anything for its wildflowers. It was thought to be home to as many species as anywhere before the dam flooded much of the valley. Still today, you can see wild geranium, jewelweed, yarrow, and Queen Anne’s lace in the park’s woods and meadows."
