Shaker Trace

Shaker Trace Professional Review and Guide

"This hike utilizes the longest trail at Miami Whitewater Forest, the Shaker Trace. It makes a big loop within the Dry Fork Whitewater River Valley. The trail travels from the developed recreation hub near the park visitor center and works its way through woods and restored prairie. Later, it enters wetlands, for Miami Whitewater Forest is not merely a recreational park: It also has reestablished and preserved fast-disappearing natural habitat from the greater Cincinnati landscape. You will explore these wetlands then move on through bucolic rolling fields, mixed with stands of trees, where views stretch for surprising distances. Other sections travel alongside Dry Fork Whitewater River."
