Great Seal State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The hills within this park, which sometimes lead to scenic vistas and are often accordingly rugged in spots, are famous in the sense that they are depicted on the Great Seal of the State of Ohio. That terrain is challenging. The park has more than 20 miles of trails—for hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers—and you need to be fit to comfortably tackle any of them. Sugarloaf Mountain Trail, for example, climbs 2.1 miles through a forest made up largely of maples, gaining 500 feet in elevation within a quarter mile at one point. Mt. Ives Trail leads to several vistas and is just one mile, but it likewise is very challenging."
