Possum Creek MetroPark Professional Review and Guide
"Possum Creek MetroPark is an example of how nature can recover if just given a chance. It was once farmland, but it was degraded over time; dumps cropped up to mar the landscape. An effort to replant the area in native prairie grasslands and flowers was made and succeeded. What’s resulted is one of the largest and most diverse prairie habitats in Ohio. It accounts for nearly 20 percent of the park’s 500-plus acres. There’s some restored farmland to explore, too. Located in the park’s extreme southern end, it’s a working farm stocked with live animals. Families can sign up for a “family chores program” to learn about farming, while kids can enjoy the “Polly Possum” play area."
