Leesville Southfork Campground Professional Review and Guide
"This long, narrow, C-shaped lake, impounded in 1938, is a little bit of wilderness. That’s because no roads encircle it. Instead, its 27 miles of pine tree-covered shoreline give the place a remote feel. Anglers enjoy it as it’s considered an excellent fishery for largemouth bass and muskies and a good one for crappies, and bluegills. A 10-horsepower limit is in effect on the lake. A fishing map available from the state Department of Natural Resources (find it at www .dnr .state .oh .us/Portals/9/pdf/lakemaps/LeesvilleLake .pdf) offers details on lake contours, amenities and more. Hikers who explore the shorelines and the Leesville Lake Wildlife Area, which fills the “C” created by it, will find a variety of songbirds. Hunters can pursue white-tailed deer, as well as turkeys and grouse."
