I found this to be a very dull trail, not much to see and definitely not worth the gas or the $7. Maybe I was a bit jaded after just coming back from hiking in the Smokies the week before but regardless my wife and I found it very disappointing.

I walked the section from Morgans Canoe Livery to the two serpent effigys. Very interesting, but watch out for traffic on the bridge. Worth the walk. This part of the trail is flat and along the edge of the woods.

Made a second visit today(08/05/2009). Beautiful wildflowers along the trail. Hiked down to Morgans livery and back over the bridge to the serpent effigys. If you are interested in paleo-indian history, the trail and the museum are a must do.

After a false start and difficulty finding the trailhead, this was a very nice hike. It skirts around the earthworks, goes down into the woods, comes out on a bike path, turns at the river and goes on a country road and into a farmer's field to the serpent effigy. The trail was busy on the day we hiked it with lots of people, kids and dogs on leashes. We took a few minutes to watch the canoeists at the Morgan Canoe Livery and next time we will consider hiking to the livery and taking a canoe trip in conjunction with our hike.
