Vesuvius Horse Trail Professional Review and Guide
"The Vesuvius Horse Trail area is a beautiful one with lots to see and lots of avenues for seeing it. There are 46 miles of trail that can be covered on horseback or foot, as hiking is permitted. The trails are broken down into loops and connector trails so you can make your ride or hike as long or as short as you like. They wind through woods, past beaver dams, along old roads and past streams. But you’ve got to be pretty self-sufficient to experience it all. There are few creature comforts at the trailhead—not even water for the horses—so you’ve got to carry in whatever you need. If you can handle that, and if you’re willing to carry out all that you bring in, this is a rustic adventureland."
