Alley Park Hike

Alley Park Hike Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This hike makes a loop through extremely hilly and wooded terrain centered by a small lake. You will navigate a nest of sometimes confusing paths with an amazing number of trail intersections for the park’s size. Start out by exploring pretty Lake Loretta, with the nearby nature center and covered bridge as a backdrop, before climbing into steep hills.

Work your way toward little Twin Lake, then make a long curve on a high ridge, viewing impressive sandstone cliff lines and other geological features reminiscent of the Hocking Hills, including a rock house. Work your way back to the parking area, passing umpteen more intersections."

"This 300-acre park is packed with a network of hiking trails covering it all. Our hike starts at the lodge overlooking the park’s easily accessed fishing lake. A wide, groomed stone path sneaks out of the lodge parking lot and climbs a forested ridge. After reaching the top, it spills over the south side and arrives at a remote lake. Enjoy a waterside break, then travel around the ridge at a lower point to return to the main lake. Cross a dam, and then explore a smaller ridge viewpoint before returning down to the lodge parking area. This hike includes the Blackhand, Lakes, Twin Lakes, Alley, Buck Run, and Christmas Ferns Trails." Read more
