Lamping Homestead Trail

Lamping Homestead Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This 4.0-mile loop trail is one of the most secluded in the state. Begin at the nineteenth-century Lamping family homestead. Walk around a small fishable pond and into a deciduous forest dotted here and there with white pine plantations.

Ascend ridges 600 to 800 feet above the river valleys, and walk in biodiverse hollows. Overlook Clear Fork and return to where you started, circling a Native American mound and the old Lamping family cemetery."

Started out about 10am on a lovely fall morning. A wonderful trail with lots of beautiful scenery. It seemed like we maybe just missed the peak of the fall colors. A lot of the trees seemed to have already lost some leaves.
