Mary Jane Thurston State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This area was once part of the Great Black Swamp, a chunk of marshy ground 120 miles long by as much as 40 miles wide that slowed western settlement. Today, Mary Jane Thurston State Park is much more inviting. It offers some excellent waterfowl hunting in the Turkeyfoot Area. The fishing on the Maumee River is fine, some of the best flowing water fishing in the state, in fact. Anglers catch smallmouth bass, white bass, northern pike, channel catfish, crappies, and other species, both from shore and from boats. The park contains a launch as well as dock space."
