Germantown MetroPark Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"If your tastes in parks run toward the wild and untamed, this nearly 1,700- acre park is the one for you. It’s not wilderness. But it is a relatively large, significant assortment of habitat types. There are steep hillsides, creek bottoms, wetlands, old-growth forest, ponds, grasslands, and cedar glades. That mixture produces some plants and animals not found elsewhere locally. The old growth, fittingly accessible only by walking several miles and crossing several streams, is especially pretty when spring’s wildflowers are in bloom."
