Hemlock to Deer Lick Cave Loop Trail, Brecksville Reservation Professional Review and Guide
"Chippewa Creek is the star of this section of Brecksville Reservation, flowing steadily throughout the year. Here, the reservation’s extensive trail system, including the Bridle Trail and a portion of the famous Buckeye Trail, comes together, offering a winding hike with a constant back and forth between uphill climbs and downhill slopes. Oak-hickory forests rule the ridgetops, while cottonwoods, willows, and sycamores sit alongside the creek on the floodplain. The unusual sandstone formation of Deer Lick Cave makes this long rugged hike worth the trip.
Though the reservation is packed with an extensive trail system, it’s surprisingly close to suburban Brecksville. So you’ll easily find your way back on track should you get lost or decide to veer off trail because something caught your eye."
