At more than 700 acres, Raccoon Creek is the biggest park in the Gallia County system. It’s definitely a multi-use facility. It’s got a mixture of woods, fields, and wetlands, so birders love it for the wide variety of species it attracts. There’s some neat hiking, too. The park is home to a natural gorge—of the kind common in this corner of the state—cut by Raccoon Creek. There are a couple of scenic vistas that are worth seeing.
