Oak Hill to Plateau Trail, Cuyahoga Valley National Park Professional Review and Guide
"Right off the highway, yet as remote a feeling as you’ll get on a hike. Surrounded by tall pines, you’ll feel like you’re lost in the Carolinas or Smokies, light years away from the city. Sandy, dirt trails take you over predominantly flat terrain for a serene hike that brings special meaning to getting “lost in the woods.”
You’ll find the Oak Hill / Plateau Trailhead in the northeastern corner of the parking lot. The trail splits off early on, and you’ll want to follow the Oak Hill Trail toward Sylvan Pond to the right, hiking east. Flat and smooth, there’s nothing particularly challenging about the trail. Still, you’ll find it’s indescribably beautiful. Perhaps it’s indescribable because it’s a surprising beauty. After all, there’s no noteworthy waterfall or powerful river flowing through (though the Cuyahoga River is nearby to the east). But there is certainly something special about these trails. The fun is discovering it for yourself."
