There’s a reason famous industrialist John D. Rockefeller selected this area as his summer retreat in the late 19th century. Beautiful hardwood trees, such as sugar maple and beech, line the sides of the park’s numerous ravines. What begins as a seemingly uneventful stroll through a modern day park quickly becomes enveloped in years of untamed growth. Though this was once a well-manicured center of relaxation for the affluent, Forest Hill has since become overgrown with diverse vegetation that makes for excellent hiking territory.
