I took my two young boys, ages 6 and 4, for an afternoon hike and trail lunch. The weather was great and we all had fun on the trail. The boys especially enjoyed counting the 130 stairs that lead you to the overlook above the Rocky River. On the way down, we took an alternate route and we paused for pictures on the chair that is built into the rock wall along the descending path. We all enjoyed a stop at the Nature Center where my sons spent half an hour exploring the "tree" and it's many displays of native animal and plant species.
Thanks to the Metro Parks for creating such a wonderful place for families to enjoy and learn about nature.
