Lake Erie Nature & Science Center & Huntington Reservation Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Crawl through a hollow log, visit the stars, and hit the beach—all in the span of a mile.
Start by wandering through the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. It is brimming with life, from turtles and tarantulas to pythons and piranhas. Large aquariums full of critters fascinate folks of all ages. Nimble visitors can crawl through a 15-foot-long hollow tree that lies just inside the center’s front door.
The center also houses the Walter R. Schuele Planetarium, which offers regular presentations on weekends. (See the website for an events schedule—this is a busy nature center!) Outside, the center’s lovely “backyard” is great for bird-watching and relaxing. Once you’ve soaked up the sights inside and around the nature center, head north on the All Purpose Trail to the lake."
