Beartown Lakes Reservation

Beartown Lakes Reservation Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Bainbridge Township was settled in the early 1800's. At that time, the area was simply awash in bears. Local lore tells of a time when one of the McConoughey boys killed 5 bears in a single day. Not surprising, residents began calling the are Beartown.

Mature beech and maple forests, a small pine grove, and three lakes comprise this 149-acre park in southern Geauga County. Beavers, herons, hawks, and deer are prevalent. But will you see a bear?"
