Ashtabula The Underground Railroad and Covered Bridges

Ashtabula: The Underground Railroad and Covered Bridges Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Would you trust your life to an invisible thing called the Underground Railroad (UGRR)? The UGRR operated from the 1780's until about 1862. During that time, an estimated 40,000 freedom-seeking slaves passed through Ohio.

Ohio’s largest county has a lot of secrets. Consider these two short hikes a teaser: The first introduces you to some of Austinburg’s most notable Underground Railroad sites; the second takes you across Ohio’s third-longest covered bridge."
