Pleasant Ridge: Beer and Peanuts, Wine and Cheese Professional Review and Guide

"Pleasant Ridge is an historic gaslight neighborhood, with a small and vibrant business district along Montgomery Road, about 9 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati. This hilltop area was first settled in 1795 and was named Pleasant Ridge because of its pleasant ridgetop views.

During the early 1800s, the Wood family acquired much of the land in the area and renamed the settlement Crossroads around 1825. When the area was surveyed for construction of a
railroad during the mid-1800s, the community was once again referred to as Pleasant Ridge. It was incorporated in 1891, and the city of Cincinnati annexed the village in 1912."
