North Loop of the Logan Trail

North Loop of the Logan Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This is the longest and most difficult hike in the entire guide. The hike is not to be feared, however—it simply takes time and planning to execute. Since the walk involves over 9 miles of hiking with combined elevation changes of 4,200 feet, you will be challenged.

Start at the hike’s lowest point near Pine Lake at Tar Hollow State Park, then make four distinct climbs followed by four descents as you stretch into the hills and hollows of adjoining Tar Hollow State Forest, a 16,000-plus-acre enclave perched in the Appalachians foothills south of Columbus. Along the way visit the Brush Ridge Fire Tower, which you can climb—if you have enough leg strength."
