Stone Steps Loop at Mount Airy Forest Professional Review and Guide
"This hike explores the south side of Cincinnati’s historic Mount Airy Forest. Depart the stately Oval Shelter and descend a steep hollow centered by a rocky drainage. You will drop over 300 feet. Your climb back out includes using the Stone Steps, handplaced limestone footings that help you negotiate your way directly up the nose of a ridge. The balance of the hike curves around rib ridges and into rocky drainages sloping off the side of Mount Airy. Numerous trail junctions add a navigational challenge to this rewarding hike that will leave you coming back to this trail-filled park."
