Friendship Park

Friendship Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Friendship Park is fairly large as most county facilities go, encompassing 1,320 acres. There’s an 89-acre lake here and fishing for catfish, largemouth bass, bluegills, carp and trout is popular. All anglers sixteen and older need to buy a fishing permit; the money raised by their sale goes to stocking more fish. All fish but carp need to be released alive immediately. There are five smaller lakes here worth exploring, as are the wetlands and undeveloped areas. The smaller ponds are full of frogs, waterbirds and other creatures, while the woods hold white-tailed deer. The park is also home to the Jefferson County Fair in Aug, a two-day wine festival in September, and a privately-operated Steel Valley Dragway, which holds races throughout summer. Be sure to check out Fort Friendship, too. It’s a veterans memorial with some interesting monuments."
