Strouds Run State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This park is one that hikers should love. Strouds Run’s 2,600 acres are crisscrossed with trails, some for foot travel only, others multi-use in nature. You can walk any individually or combine several and make your own loops. You’ll often see interesting things along the way. There are trails leading to a scenic overlook, hugging the lake shore, leading to a cave and rock formations, passing by a beaver colony and even leading to an old cemetery. The Friends of Strouds Run State Park (www .friendsofstroudsrun .org/) sell a number of field guides that offer details not only on the paths themselves, but on the wildflowers, trees, plants and geology of the park. They’re handy and proceeds benefit the park. Strouds Run’s 161-acre lake is also one of the places in Ohio stocked with rainbow trout, an otherwise uncommon species, so be sure to spend some time casting for them in spring. Trails offer good shore access, though you can also take out your boat."
