Storm King Mountain and Butter Hill Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hike up a Hudson Valley icon to some of the area’s most sumptuous views of the Highlands, the Catskills, and the ribbon of river below. One of the most popular hikes in the Lower Hudson Valley, the route up Storm King Mountain by way of Butter Hill earns its reputation by providing one sparkling viewpoint after another for the entire length of this challenging trail.

A clear day at the top can reveal the Catskill Mountains rolling beyond the Shawangunks, the Hudson River’s silvery ribbon extending all the way to New York City, and unsurpassed views of the mountains nearby, including Bull Hill, Mount Beacon, Crow’s Nest, and Schunemunk."
