Cohocton River Wallace to Bath

Cohocton River (Wallace to Bath) Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Expect beautiful scenery of verdant farmlands, alder wetlands and forested hills with an abundance of wildlife and a clear water stream with a rocky bottom. Also expect to hear noise from nearby highways. Valleys were popular passageways for early settlers and remain so today with our superhighways. The waterway varies from 15 to 45 feet wide. The Cohocton River starts near the Livingston - Steuben County border and flows for 60 miles to the Tioga River. It is fed by many tributaries and underground springs that give it a good year-round supply of water. It’s a popular brown trout fishing stream. It’s also popular fall hunting grounds as evidenced by the tree stands and hunting blinds that dot the shore."
