Stone Valley Falls

Stone Valley Falls Professional Review and Guide

"This is our favorite trail in northwestern New York—four falls in a mile-long hike, each more impressive than the last.

Thanks to a partnership between the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club, the St. Lawrence County Youth Conservation Corps, and landowners Brookfield Renewable Power, St. Lawrence County, and the town of Colton, the Stone Valley Cooperative Recreational Area—an obvious labor of love—provides the public with a well-maintained, clearly interpreted trail that leads to four fascinating waterfalls along the Raquette River in under a mile. This hike introduces just one branch of this wonderful 12-mile trail system, so plan to return to Stone Valley when you have time to explore more of the woodlands, hills, and river."
