Good trails; well marked. Easy walking even in some snow and doing all trails.

We spotted about 20 deer, a couple of Cooper's Hawks, and numerous Chickadees. Saw lots of tracks, but no animals to go with them.

Would recommend this site, but it's a bit hard to find. Used my GPS to find it using the point of interest feature and I wound up in south Buffalo. Finally had to input the cross streets where the preserve is located, and we got there with no problem.

Trails.com has received the following update from the Tifft Nature Preserve: Due to Erie County funding cuts, Tifft is open when there are pre-booked, reserved programs or by appointment. When the gate to Tifft parking lot is closed, the entire preserve is closed. That being said, we have a regular scheduled hike (Wellness Walk) on most Thursdays from 10am-12 noon and you may cross-country ski at that time. These hours are subject to be cancelled in the case that the groups cancel etc. So, it would be best to call 825-6397 and leave a message with the day/time you plan on coming and someone can get back to you if the program is cancelled and Tifft is closed.

Nice escape from the city/urban environment. Easy snowshoe trails, some variety of topography, many deer throughout reserve. Can be cold on the mounds trails as prevailing winds off lake Erie can cause quite a wind chill.
