Stony Brook Harbor Professional Review and Guide
"Launching from the small beach off the town parking lot positions you optimally to begin a trip deep into the harbor itself. Paddling straight off the beach brings you to a fairly large piece of land, known as Young’s Island, that’s worthy of a circumnavigation. Resist the urge to land there, however, as the entire island is a designated bird sanctuary. Regardless, you can see an amazing variety of birds from the water."
