"Formerly owned by private hunting clubs, the land that now encompasses Hubbard County Park was purchased by Suffolk County only within the last decade. Containing unique environments of salt flats, marshes, beach, and woodland, the park is home to many species of migratory birds, as well as unique flowers and plants. The hike through this park is an easy trip offering views of the area’s many assets in any season."

Take sr27 to sr24 north. Make a right at Red Creek Rd, park on shoulder about 100ft up. Entered trail heading North to Bay, saw some mountain bikers, and dog walkers. Prepare for skeeters. Great day with kids.
