Brown Tract Pond

Brown Tract Pond Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Say the word Adirondacks, and most people envision placid bodies of water with forested and boulder-strewn shores—the very picture of a tranquil wilderness. During the tourist season, campers who seek these settings usually have to hike or boat to primitive campsites—but the Brown Tract Pond campground offers such opportunities for the car camper. Tucked away from the main tourist areas of the Adirondack Park is the 146-acre Brown Tract Pond, whose rugged shores offer tent campers a quiet wilderness setting. Power boats are not allowed on the pond—and given the remote setting, the loudest sounds you are likely to hear will be the calls of a loon."
