Rockefeller State Park Preserve

Rockefeller State Park Preserve Professional Review and Guide

"Walk the carriage roads that John D. Rockefeller Jr. created on his own land for the enjoyment of the local and global community.

Few paths are more walkable than those created by John D. Rockefeller Jr., whether they crisscross the lake- strewn landscape between the mountains of Acadia National Park in Maine or wander through the floodplains of the Hudson River Valley. Here at the state park that bears his name, Rockefeller put his love of the outdoors and open space to work to create a parklike setting for his family and his community, and it’s our good fortune to be able to come here and wander to our heart’s content.

The trail we selected begins with the Old Sleepy Hollow Road Trail, and takes advantage of some connector trails to bring you to the Pocantico Hills, an area of healthy forest and undulating terrain."
