Thousand Acre Swamp Trail

Thousand Acre Swamp Trail Professional Review and Guide

"White trilliums, ferns, and blue violets are among the 500 plant species known to inhabit the Thousand Acre Swamp Sanctuary, along with large hardwood species of northern red oak, white oak, sugar maple, and black cherry.

They share the land with deer, rabbit, red and grey fox, muskrat, opossum, mink, eastern coyote, and over one-hundred forty-seven species of birds. It’s no wonder that the Central and Western New York Chapter of the Nature Conservancy chose these lands for preservation. Surface: Dirt path and boardwalks."
