The Lake Road Trail, a multiuse trail, is an old carriage road leading from the Gate Lodge at the property’s entrance to Pruyn’s Great Camp on Newcomb Lake. Built by the Pruyns for horse-drawn carriages, the trail is wide enough for two carriages to pass side by side. A registration box is situated at the beginning of the 4.7-mile trail. It is important for winter trail users to sign in and sign out in the registration log book. There are always risks in the wilderness and there are no patrols on this unusually long winter trail.
