Staten Island Greenbelt Trail

Staten Island Greenbelt Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Situated on 2800 acres in the heart of Staten Island, the parcels of land that comprise today’s Greenbelt originally were several large estates. Conceived by Frederick Law Olmstead—landscape architect of Manhattan’s Central Park, the Greenbelt is the result of zealous efforts in the 1960s and 1970s to preserve green space on rapidly growing Staten Island. Today, the Greenbelt offers a hike to dogs and their owners through dense forests and rolling meadows."
