Oatka Creek (Backwaters of the LeRoy Dams) Professional Review and Guide
"Two dams hold back the waters of Oatka Creek in LeRoy, forming backwaters that are deep enough to paddle year-round (except when frozen). It’s like paddling on a pond. From the central launch point at Munson Road, you can paddle upstream, above the dam, or paddle downstream, below the dam. Both directions offer islands around which to paddle. Downstream is more residential, but both directions are fun for a short, easy paddle. Upstream you can easily reach the railroad bridge before encountering fast, shallow water. How far you paddle upstream, past the railroad bridge will be determined by the water level and your propensity for paddling against a current."
