Mostly along level terrain, this trail system weaves among lake bluffs, quiet woodlands, and a sprawling wetland. e trail along the bluff has spectacular views of Lake Ontario, while the wetland provides some of the best birding opportunities of any of the trails described in this book. e wetland has a multitude of roosts for herons, ospreys, great horned owls, and even bald eagles. e rookery is most active May–July. To get the most out of your experience here, binoculars should be included in your packing list.
