Goose Pond Mountain Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Relatively undiscovered amid the hills and valleys of scenic Orange County lie the 1558 acres that make up Goose Pond Mountain State Park. Largely undeveloped, the land that encompasses this park was purchased by the state in the 1960s, after which all structures on the property were demolished. History also has it that legendary cowboy Claudius Smith hid in a rock shelter here years ago, as he also did in Harriman State Park. Note that trails in this park are unmarked and therefore a compass or GPS device is highly recommended."
