Fair Haven Beach State Park

Fair Haven Beach State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"As the most-recent glacier receded from New York about 10,000 years ago, it carved out the 7,340-square-mile basin that is now Lake Ontario. Another product of the receding glacier was drumlins—long, egg-shaped hills that are found throughout upstate New York. The waves of Lake Ontario have been eroding these drumlins to form bluffs, which can be seen to the east of the park’s beach. The lake and these dramatic bluffs form some of Fair Haven Beach State Park’s unique features."
