    Hurricane Mountain Trail

    Hurricane Mountain Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"For such a large mountain, this route up the north face of Hurricane presents a very moderate climb. Except at the summit itself, there are no rocky ledges to scramble over, and only a few short steps along the trail that might be considered steep. Therefore, this route is perfectly suited to a wide variety of winter hikers, and the bald summit is definitely worth the climb. This was a fire tower mountain, too. The tower was still standing as of 2005, but it was scheduled to be relocated so that the mountain can be reclassified as a wilderness area."

Great hike, very windy on top but great views. You cannot get into the firetower, The stairs have been removed from the bottom 50 feet and the tower is very unstable. All rock summit with a nice scramble. Pretty easy hike, took my gf and it was her first mountain climb. 360 degree views!
