Setauket Harbor Professional Review and Guide
"You have several paddling options when launching from the beach on Shore Road. Turning 180 degrees south and heading down the small creek for 0.3 mile will bring you to the dock of the local kayak outfi tter and to the parking lot of a locally famous delicatessen. Indeed, many people begin their trip this way, picking up lunch before heading out into the harbor. Alternately, you can head almost due west from the beach and enter a small piece of water aptly called Little Bay. Quite shallow and muddy at low tide, Little Bay is a popular water-skiing spot when water levels are higher. It’s also the location of the remains of a bridge crossing to Strong’s Neck: look to the south just as you enter Little Bay, and the stone foundation of one end of the bridge is visible on the shore."
