"Spanning 2170 miles from Maine to Georgia, the Appalachian Trail (AT) is the best known footpath in the Eastern United States. Each year, hundreds of hikers either attempt to complete the entire trail, or embark on overnight hikes to complete pieces of the trail from north to south. The journey described here of just over 11 miles travels across some of the most picturesque and challenging terrain in this region. The hike can be accomplished as either a full day’s jaunt, or an overnight hike with an option to camp at the Wildcat Shelter 2.1 miles into the hike."
