A great spring hike! Virtually had the whole trail to myself and my partner. Great variety of terrain... Cool views and beautiful forest landscapes. Great for a local lower NY hike. I have taken 3 hikes in this park and all have been fantastic. Trails are well maintained streams are easy to cross, lakes are beautiful and full of life.

A plus!!!

This was a great hike. Took just under 4 hours. We met only one other group. Pretty quickly delivers a real climb with views, followed by some great forest environments. Trails are not always easy to follow, but if you keep an eye out, you'll be ok. Also some funky passages with remnants of old farm communities, including a quaint house in the middle of nowhere.

Watch out for the bridges over the main creek in winter weather. I went twice and once had a rather hard time not slipping.

A great half day experience.
