Storm King Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Storm King (1,340 feet) is among the most popular hiking destinations in the Hudson Highlands, and is a mountain that has had a decisive influence on the national environmental movement. If there is one symbol of the struggle to preserve scenic open space, this is it. Dramatic views and open rock ledges characterize the trails in Storm King State Park, which is managed by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission. Until recently, some interesting desti- nations in the park were inaccessible, but proactive trail advocacy by the New York–New Jersey Trail Conference has provided more access, particularly in the southern area bordering the West Point Military Reservation."
