Red Hill Fire Tower Trail Professional Review and Guide
"There is perhaps no better introduction to the Catskill skyline than the 360degree view from the Red Hill fire tower. This short hike is ever popular in summer, but winter road maintenance falls 0.5 mile short of the trailhead. Still, this extra distance keeps the fire tower within an easy distance for snowshoers, and the modest grades are anything but intimidating. The fire tower has been restored, and it offers the only view from the summit. Care will be needed if you choose to climb the potentially icy steps."
