    Nice place for a Hike, trails are good. Alot of open fields before getting to the woods.

    "DEC calls this a unique area, and it is truly unique and special. It comprises 145 acres of open fields, 135 acres of early successional trees and shrubs, 38 acres of old forest, 18 acres of mature sugar maple, American beech, and bitternut hickory, and 13 acres of riparian zone. The trail follows a long, gradual uphill tractor path through fields to a stand of nearly old growth forest. Although old, this forest is not undisturbed pre-settlement “old growth” forest. The stand was harvested in the distant past, and may have been managed as a sugar bush for maple sap production. However, given the dignity of time, this forest will give us a glimpse of the transition from “old forest” to “old growth forest.” Surface: Mowed tractor path and dirt trails" Read more
