This stretch snakes for roughly 30 miles, from its source east of the village of Arcade to the dam in Springville. This half of the creek is stocked annually with about 6,400 brown trout averaging 8 inches and about 1,300 two-year-olds averaging 14 inches. It also has a good population of wild browns and a smattering of wild rainbow trout. All respond to salted minnows, worms, and flies. Cast small Panther Martins upstream, especially along undercut banks, and work them back faster than the current.
