Acquired by Westchester County in 1927, Blue Mountain Reservation offers a multitude of opportunities for hikers and their canine companions. In addition to two ponds and connecting streams, steep climbs lead to sweeping vistas of the surrounding countryside. This hike takes you across moderate terrain to the peak of Blue Mountain and visits both New Pond and Loundsbury Pond—a perfect adventure for the water-loving pooch. Note that Blue Mountain also supports a healthy population of mountain bikers. Watch for and yield to bikers on the trail.

Great gentle climb and generally well marked trails. Only a few spots where the markers need work to match the maps the park supplies. But overall a great hike and it was particularly fun for our dog.
