Whales Tail Ski Trail is a hiking trail in Essex County, New York. It is within High Peaks Wilderness and Adirondack Park. It is 1.7 miles long and begins at 2,339 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 3.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 954 feet. The trail ends near the Marcy Dam #4 Lean-to and Marcy Dam #5 Lean-to shelters. There are also camp sites and restroom near the end of the trail.
