    Range Trail

    Range Trail is a hiking trail in Essex County, New York. It is within High Peaks Wilderness and Adirondack Park. It is 8.6 miles long and begins at 3,729 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 18.1 miles with a total elevation gain of 11,656 feet. Lower Wolfjaw Mountain (elevation 4,177 feet), Upper Wolfjaw Mountain (elevation 4,203 feet), Hedgehog Mountain (elevation 3,376 feet), Basin Mountain (elevation 4,816 feet), Armstrong Mountain (elevation 4,331 feet), Saddleback Mountain (elevation 4,511 feet), and Gothics (elevation 4,675 feet) can be seen along the trail. There are also viewpoints along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Haystack Trail, Haystack Brook Trail, Wedge Brook Trail, Shorey Short Cut, Orebed Brook Trail, Phelps Trail, Wolf Jaws Notch Cutoff Trail, Weld Trail and Roostercomb Trail.
